Lise Watier Féline Eyeshadow Quartet

Hello! More Lise Watier today: here's the lovely Féline Eyeshadow Quartet, which is another piece to the fall Féline collection, along with the Féline Lip Lacquer in Rouge reviewed previously this week.

The gorgeous leopard print takes centre stage here in a rose-gold trimmed compact. The compact has a pleasant weight to it--not super heavy, but doesn't feel flimsy--and is held shut with strong magnets (no need to wreck your mani trying to pry this open!)

The compact looks a little yellow on my monitor but I promise it's rose gold!
The four colours in this quad are a pale champagne, medium taupe, pale rose pink, and copper, all with some shimmer to them. They are lightly stamped with leopard-print impressions. A small well holds two dual-tipped sponge applicators, but could hold a small travel eye brush as long as it is 8 cm or less.

I really liked the soft, buttery texture of these shadows. Bonus: unlike some other eyeshadows from various brands I've tried, these didn't kick up a lot of powder when I ran a brush through them, so things don't get messy.

The champagne looks so pretty in the pan, but actually doesn't have much base colour to it when applied--it's almost all pale gold and iridescent shimmer. It took a fair bit of swatching to get the champagne strip you see above. The pale pink is like the lovechild of MAC Gleam and Urban Decay Sin--not quite as warm as Gleam with its gold shimmer, but not quite as frosty or cool-toned as Sin. The taupe is one of my favourites--super wearable for any occasion and works as a crease colour, all-over wash, or very subtle liner. The copper felt a little out of place for me because it is so red-leaning compared to its more neutral-friendly sisters, but is nevertheless really lovely and is probably the most buttery shade in the quad.

Here's my look using only the quartet: pale pink all over the lid and along the inner half of the lower lashline, taupe in the crease, champagne in the inner corner, and copper as the upper liner and in the outer half of the lower lashline. Of course, I had to attempt a cat-eye flick for this big cat-inspired palette!

If you are a bit more cool-toned, try using the pink as a brow highlight. The champagne can be patted all over a bare lid for a translucent shimmery eye, or patted on top of black liner to add sparkle.

With the exception of the champage, the colour payoff is fairly good and Lise Watier's cream-powder eyeshadow formula has good lasting power as well. These factors plus the lovely, soft texture might help set this palette apart from other similar shades out there (especially with all the "nude" palettes out there). However, there's no doubt that the cat lady-appropriate, quality packaging definitely makes this palette unique and kind of a collector's item. Apparently people are loving this quartet because it's already sold out online on the Lise Watier website, so try finding this in-store or ordering online from London Drugs.
