About

ME
I'm just a Vancouver girl writing about shiny things that catch my eye. I'm not a makeup expert, I just want to share my experiences as I learn more about makeup and skin care. My weaknesses include turquoise nail polish, coral lipstick, and puppies. I have other interests like knitting, gaming, baking and they pop up here from time to time too.

I am roughly NC20 in MAC, and wear Light to Medium with Marcelle BB Cream. My cheeks are normal-ish and my forehead and nose tend to be drier (strange I know), so I favour products that are formulated with dry skin in mind. I also deal with facial eczema. That being said, I don't really consider my skin to be sensitive; I have used all kinds of creams, masks, and exfoliants and cannot remember ever having a reaction. The only exception would be my lips and the skin around my mouth, which is the worst of my eczema.

BLOG
If you are curious about my blog name--don't worry, you're not the first! Do want comes from do not want (often used in all caps DO NOT WANT), an internet meme that was spawned by a Chinese-subbed Star Wars Episode III. At the end of Episode III when Darth Vader screams "noooooo!" it is translated in the English subtitles as:
It became a thing to say for my best friend and I when we look at makeup: to ooh and aah and go "omg do want", so the name came about pretty naturally. To be perfectly honest, Do Want Makeup was intended to be a temporary name for my blog until I could think of something more witty or catchy; I couldn’t think of anything else but I just wanted to get started. I know there are some problems with this name: not everybody is going to “get” it, and it kind of makes me sound like I don't have a firm grasp of the English language. But now that it’s been a while, the name has grown on me and even seems to have a nice ring to it :D
